Attraction Design and Production, Operations, Project Development
The Drafter/Detailer is responsible for creating shop drawings that conveys detailed information to our fabrication team, allowing them to fabricate custom elements, efficiently and accurately, as well as meeting design intent and engineering needs. This position works closely with our Project Managers and Job Leads to achieve the desired project results.
Essential Job Functions
Create detailed shop drawings for custom fabricated elements
Clearly communicate design intent onto drawings
Create toolpathing files for our CNC routers
Collaborate with the Project Management Team to find the most efficient fabrication processes, appropriate levels of fit & finish and specific engineering needs of each detailing project
Maintain open and clear communications
Act in support of and as a resource for, the fabricators in the shop.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Diploma, Degree or equivalent
At least five years of drafting experience, preferably with museum exhibits, theatrical scenery, cabinetry and millwork
Proficiency in Auto Cad
Consistent display of a high level of discretionary effort
Proactive, aware, and focused
High attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with all members of project team
Ability to perform independently and to understand the project and it’s deadlines
Ability to set priorities appropriately and identify potential issues in a timely manner
Strong understanding of fabrication and building techniques for wood and metal working as well as the materials and tools associated with such fabrication.
