Position Description: Technifex Project Managers oversee all aspects of assigned project(s), from scope definition, involvement in contract negotiations, through design/engineering, production, installation, opening, and post-opening support. Often, a Project Manager will have two or more projects under his/her direction.
The primary responsibility of the Project Manager’s position is to manage and achieve all of their project’s contractual budgetary, schedule and quality goals within the constraints of Technifex available resources. As Technifex representative, a significant part of the Project Manager’s job is dedicated to communication, documenting and reporting with an eye towards limiting all risk to the interests of both Technifex and the client in the project. He/she must possess superior and well-developed skills in communication, negotiation and diplomacy. Internally, the Project Manager must usually coordinate and communicate with other Project Managers and Technifex staff to arrive at efficient and workable solutions. The Project Manager is ultimately accountable for the profitability and timely delivery of their respective project’s performance and deliverables.
During the course of a project, the Engineering and the Production Department Managers receive input from the Project Manager regarding scope, schedule and budget for the project(s). Quality control and adherence to production standards are coordinated and communicated with the respective department managers or supervisors.
Project Managers often assist with project estimating, drafting proposals, and pursuing leads for new work when they are not fully booked doing project work.
This is a professional position, and high standards of character and behavior are expected and required. The Project Manager works largely in an office environment. Ordinary standing,
walking, climbing, and lifting up to 35 lbs. are required.
Primary Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a field directly related to Technifex business or production disciplines and 2 years of experience as a project manager, or at least 5 years successful experience in project management in a technical/production environment.
Experience with, and knowledge of, the Themed Entertainment industry, or a closely related field.
Practical knowledge of project management theory and real-world application techniques.
Ability to read, interpret and understand contract documents.
Highly developed diplomatic and negotiating skills.
High proficiency and expertise in the use of computers and software, including Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Project, Word, Excel, Outlook and other software tools.
Superior communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to produce professional business correspondence, with excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax are necessary for this position.
Excellent human relations skills; must be able to get along well as part of a team, resolve interpersonal problems and maintain good morale and cooperative attitudes among project staff.
Effective and considerable organizational and leadership skills. Ability to motivate, coach, teach and direct the activities of others in a positive manner.
Must be highly self-motivated and self-disciplined, with an even temperament.
Must be systematic, thorough, neat and professional in his or her work, and be able to focus on detail.
Effective analytical and problem solving skills. Superior judgment and decision- making ability.
Knowledge of, experience with, and skill at reading and understanding mechanical and architectural drawings.
Travel to project sites (domestic and international) as required for meetings, inspections and installation supervision. Must possess a valid and current U.S. passport.
